NYCC 2016: Iron Fist premiere trailer, Defenders Villain revealed, Punisher plot detailed

While in attendance at NYCC this last night, we had the opportunity to attend Netflix's Marvel's Iron Fist panel. We got to see a number of clips from the upcoming show, including Colleen Wing in a bad ass fight scene.

Danny Rand returns to New York City in an effort to find his family. As the Immortal Iron Fist and sworn enemy of the Hand, we finally got to see some of the mystic force in action during his fights. At the end of the panel, the host brought out all four Defenders on stage for the first time and announced that Iron Fist had just finished shooting that morning at 9AM est. Then, the big news came. The announcement of the Defenders main villain dropped, and the crowd went nuts. Ms. Sigourney Weaver will be the nemesis of the Defenders when it launches later next year.

No information was given or alluded to as to who she will play, but the guesses are already piling up. It seems like Mephisto is off the table following rumors after the Jessica Jones season as well. We'll have to wait and see for more announcements on the Defenders, but we also got some Punisher news. The host asked the lights to be dimmed and all of a sudden we all heard a voice over the microphone in the dark. "One batch…" Here's where the crowd flipped. "Two batch, penny and dime". Jon Bernthal walked out on stage and Netflix officially announced that the Punisher had begun production. After set photos revealed him in a full beard talking with Karen Paige, she was also confirmed as a main character rather than simply a cameo. The punisher series will focus on Frank's time in the military, the death of his family and what happened before Daredevil season 2 then continue forward.

It was a full hour panel chock full of video clips and information. Take a look at the trailer up top and let us know what you think below.
