Obsidian “Would Love” To Make Another Fallout Game Like New Vegas

Obsidian Entertainment, those responsible for the hit Fallout: New Vegas has stated pretty clearly that they'd love to make another game in the Fallout franchise. New Vegas director Josh Sawyer said as much in a recent interview, sharing the opinion with many other staffers at the studio.

"I would certainly love to work on a Fallout game again," Sawyer told IGN. "I know there are tons of people at Obsidian who would love to work on a Fallout game again. If we were given the chance, we would certainly love to." In fact, Sawyer went on to say that it is a frequently asked question to him, stating that he gets "more questions about Fallout than anything else."

Fallout: New Vegas had a semi-rocky launch in 2010, riddled with bugs on PS3, but after significant patching, a very well constructed game was underneath. The lasting impression it left on the gaming community was solidly a positive one.

On the discussion of what would take place in a new Obsidian-ran Fallout title, CEO Feargus Urquhart stated in 2013, "I think if we were to do Fallout: New Vegas 2–or just a new Fallout–we would probably separate it from what the internal team at Bethesda's doing. We'd keep it on the West Coast, because we're West Coast people. They're East Coast, so it makes sense."

Urquhart has recently stated that Obsidian would be interested in a buy-out if the right opportunity arose, but many wonder if their creative freedom would be compromised after such a move.
