Obsidian’s miniature survival game Grounded gets free demo on June 9

For PC and Xbox One

The cute survival action-adventure title Grounded from Obsidian Entertainment is going to receive a demo next month. This demo will be available on PC via Steam or the Xbox Insider Program. Xbox One owners aren’t left out as they too can enjoy the demo by becoming part of the Xbox Insider Program.

Grounded is going to launch properly this July 28th for PC and Xbox One, but you won’t have to wait that long to try the game yourself. Obsidian Entertainment is going to use the upcoming Steam Game Festival to promote its survival game with a demo. The game festival is going to feature dozens of timed demos across indies and big-budget games. And with this year’s E3 being canceled, these types of digital events are picking up the slack left behind it.

The world is a vast, beautiful and dangerous place – especially when you have been shrunk to the size of an ant. Explore, build and survive together in this first person, multiplayer, survival-adventure. Can you thrive alongside the hordes of giant insects, fighting to survive the perils of the backyard?

PC gamers who want to play the Grounded demo via Steam don’t have to do anything apart from waiting until the event goes live. The free demo is going to launch then where it can be downloaded and enjoyed just like any other demo on Steam. But since Obsidian Entertainment has joined Microsoft’s expanding Xbox Games Studios two years ago, the demo will also be available for users who are part of the Xbox Insider Program.

For directions on how to join the program and get access to the Grounded demo directly via Microsoft, you can check out the official post by Obsidian here. Likewise, Xbox One owners will also have to install the Xbox Insider Program app via the Xbox Insider Hub on their console. But since slots on the Xbox Insider Program are limited, it’ll be likely much easier to play the demo via Steam.
