Of course a Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reboot is happening

A reboot of the popular 90s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is reportedly in the works and Will Smith is apparently spearheading the project.

According to TVLine, Will Smith, who starred in the original series which ran from 1990 to 1996, will serve  as an executive producer alongside his Overbrook  Entertainment producing partners James Lassiter, Caleeb Pinkett and Jada Pinkett-Smith.

The show is still in "very early stages" of development, is said to put a new, modern-day spin on the original series' premise while maintaining the same spirit. It's unknown if this will be a straight reboot or a revival/continuation similar to what we've seen recently with Disney's Girl Meets World or Netflix's Fuller House. The pitch is supposedly being finalized now, with Overbrook to begin shopping it around "in the coming weeks."

The original Fresh Prince series aired for six season on NBC, ending in 1996. And just like that, another classic 90s show will be ruined for a new generation. Seriously folks, just have your children watch the original; it won't get better than that.
