Official art book leaks Diablo 4 days ahead of BlizzCon

German gaming publication Gamestar probably jumped the gun on one of the most-anticipated game announcements this year. The publication’s newest magazine issue ran an ad for an official Diablo art book which directly states that it contains artworks across the entire Diablo series, including Diablo 4.

Blizzard had a really rough week with a massive pushback from the gaming community. This came after the company harshly punished the professional Hearthstone player “Blitzchung” for supporting the Hong Kong protesters. Naturally, gamers are looking with keen eyes towards this year’s BlizzCon. Not only are they awaiting to see the company comment directly to its fans about the recent controversy, but they also look forward to new game announcements. After all, it has been seven years since the latest entry of the cult hack-&-slash looter. If we have to be technical, a new Diablo was indeed announced last year already but since that is a spin-off for mobile devices, it’s hard to count it as a true successor to Diablo 3.

Featuring over 500 artworks from Diablo, Diablo II, Diablo III and Diablo IV, this book features many noteworthy artworks created for the iconic action RPG of Blizzard Entertainment, which has given generations of fans everlasting nightmares.

Today, we finally get confirmation that Diablo 4 is not only actively in the works but will highly likely be unveiled very soon. Gamestar’s latest magazine featured an ad for “The Art of Diablo” art book which also includes art from Diablo 4. It’s a rather strange situation that Blizzard PR greenlighted the ad before the official unveiling. Nonetheless, the news is out now and there’s very little doubt when and where Blizzard will confirm the existence of the fourth Diablo. BlizzCon 2019 is just around the corner, taking place between November 1st-3rd.

While fans of the series are delighted that Diablo 4 is seemingly inbound, there are also concerns. You see, just last year Blizzard became the target of ridicule for how they dealt with the announcement of Diablo Immortal for mobile.
