Official synopsis for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice revealed

Now we know Batman's motives!

We haven't heard much about Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice since its teaser trailer made an official reveal mid-April. From what we know, Batman (Ben Affleck) and Superman (Henry Cavill) are at war with one another (hence the title of the film), Aquaman is in it (Jason Mamoa looks awesome in character) and Jesse Eisenberg somehow fits in as Lex Luthor.

Leaked photos from the Suicide Squad set have shown of Batman making a cross-over appearance, so we can even go as far to say that the Joker will be in the Batman v Superman film as well (if only as a flashback).

Collider has come across what seems to be the official synopsis for Batman v Superman, thanks to the Licensing Expo beginning soon:

Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs.  And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.

The synopsis covers Batman's beef with Superman (check) and the rise of Lex Luther as the "new threat" (check). All that is missing is Aquaman, the Joker was rumored to only appear as a flashback so the lack of mentioning in the synopsis is negligible.

Although, perhaps… Aquaman is the "sort of hero" Metropolis really needs.
