Official Wonder Woman plot synopsis revealed, Zack Snyder and Geoff Johns revealed as script writers

We recently saw the on screen debut of Wonder Woman with the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The Amazonian warrior teamed up with the Man of Steel and The Dark Knight to take on an unearthly threat and began forming the Justice League. We have known she would be getting her own movie for a while, but we didn't really know what the film was about. Now we have some answers. The synopsis reads:

“Wonder Woman” hits movie theaters around the world next summer when Gal Gadot returns as the title character in the epic action adventure from director Patty Jenkins. Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny."

Fairly mysterious, but we are sure to get more details and possibly some footage soon with San Diego Comic-Con just around the corner. The film is being written by Wonder Woman veterans Geoff Johns and Allan Heinberg who have written numerous Wonder Woman stories, so they are sure to have a grasp on the character. However, one name that may surprise you is Zack Snyder. Zack Snyder has met lots of criticism after his take on Superman with Man of Steel and "ruining" the much hyped superhero battle in Batman v Superman. Warner Bros. appeared to take away lots of control from Snyder with Justice League and handed it over to Ben Affleck and Geoff Johns, but it seems they aren't shying away from his writers credit with Wonder Woman. Only time will tell how this turns out.

Wonder Woman will release next summer on June 23rd, 2017 and will star Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Lucy Davis, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, Lisa Loven Kongsli, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, and Saïd Taghmaoui.
