OG Halo veterans have joined 343 Industries to finish Halo Infinite

The saga that is the development of Halo Infinite has taken a surprise twist today. But unlike fears of more bad news, this time it’s a very nice one and instills the future of arguably the most ambitious Halo game to date with trust.

In an official blog post on Halo Waypoint, the developers have talked about the state of all things Halo, including Infinite. A standout detail that emerged from there is that two veterans who worked on various Halo titles have joined 343 Industries.

Pierre Hintze is the first one who worked as Head of our Publishing Team on the Master Chief Collection. Hintze is taking over the position of Project Lead on the Free-to-Play portion of Halo Infinite’s multiplayer.

Next up is Joseph Staten who is a true legend in the Haloverse for having worked way back on the original games by Bungie. He’s the new Project Lead of the campaign for Halo Infinite and will help the team achieve their goals for a timely release next year.

Changes in important roles of the development of the next Halo game naturally lead to speculations on how far 343 Industries is planning to change Halo Infinite. The infamous gameplay reveal last month was met with a massive wave of criticism. Especially in regard to the visuals and design. Shortly afterward the game was delayed into 2021.

Do these new additions to the development team mean that Halo Infinite is getting more than just a polish? That remains to be seen. All we have to go by are the recent statements after the reveal where the devs openly said that they are not going to the change the game design and art style much.
