Omerta: City of Gangsters pre-order 15% off on Steam

Are you a fan of 1920's gangsters? Then you should have your eye on Omerta: City of Gangsters, an upcoming mobster sim from Haemimont Games (developers of the Tropico series) and published by Kalypso. I can tell you from first-hand experience of the game that it is a neat mix of turn-based strategic combat — much like that of XCOM: Enemy Unknown — and city conquest gameplay. You go through 1920s Atlantic City, starting with small jobs but slowly recruiting other mobsters and taking territory from other mobsters.

If you enjoyed all of the options making your dictator in Tropico, then you'll have a blast creating your mobster in Omerta: City of Gangsters. Not only do you level up your characters and customize their gear, but combat involves a neat cover and stealth system. In one specific level I saw back at E3 2012, a crew of mobsters entered a bank to take down KKK clan members.

It very well might be the XCOM of 2013. Right now on Steam, you can pre-purchase the game for 15% off the regular price, bringing it down to $33.99 from $39.99. In the meantime, check out our preview from our time with Omerta: City of Gangsters. The release date for the Xbox 360 on February 12, and the PC version on February 2. On Steam, the game will be available on January 31.
