Game of Thrones' TV script-writers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have revealed that American President Barack Obama has access to episodes from the show's upcoming season.
This news might come as a shock to many Game of Thrones fans, then again it might not, but when asked about how Obama obtained such secretive content, the duo responded in a rather frank fashion.
Speaking at the Game of Thrones Season Premiere, both writers were asked whether or not there was a moment that signified that they had 'made it,' for lack of a better expression.
Weiss responded: "I think, for both of us, finding out the President wanted advanced copies of the episodes was an 'aha' moment. That was a very strange moment."
In sheer shock the interviewer, Veronica Belmont, asked whether or not it was true, because as many fans are aware, these two like to joke around a little during interviews.
"Yes," Weiss confirmed. "He’s the leader of the free world."
Benioff added: "When the commander-in-chief says 'I want to see advanced episodes,' what are you gonna do?"
So, there you have it. You're either jealous of Barack Obama right now, or would like to discuss the entire season with him over a cup of coffee, maybe biscuits – who knows.
Either way, not too long to go now! Season six of Game of Thrones is set to air live on April 24th, HBO, and will hit screens in the UK a day later on Sky Atlantic.
