It has now been a full week since the release of Driveclub on PlayStation 4. The new racing title from Evolution Studios has had a bit of a rough launch, suffering from server and connection issues that have plagued the online and social aspects of the PS4 exclusive. As a result, Driveclub PS Plus Edition — the slightly stripped-down version of the game free for PS Plus members — has yet to release, even though it was supposed to launch alongside the full retail version. One week later, still no PS Plus Edition on the store.
To the developer's credit, Evolution Studios has been working around the clock to fix the issues with Driveclub's servers. Today, they posted an update informing us that after more "successful" upgrades and updates to the servers, Driveclub's performance "continues to improve." More of you should now be able to play online together and even experience the newly added-in friendly leaderboards.
Unfortunately, there was no update on the free PS Plus Edition of the game, angering many eager PlayStation Plus members who have waited patiently for a week now. Evolution Studios, in the past, has said that once the servers are stable they will make available the PS Plus Edition. I don't think they are 100 percent there yet, but an update would be nice. Instead, PS Plus members have been met with silence.
