Ong Bak video game to kick your ass in 2012

Ong Bak: Muay Thai Warrior was the movie that introduced the world to the asskicking goodness of Tony Jaa, who would later go on to punch the hell out of some dudes in Ong Bak 2, while totally busting up some faces in Ong Bak 3. Now it seems this epic martial arts trilogy will be seeing another installment, though this time utilizing our favorite medium, the vidyagame.

Details on this Ong Bak video game are scarse, with the title being created by the newly formed game development wing of Thailand-based creative house Studio HIVE. Slated for late 2012, the game will see a multiplatform release, and the game's creators claim to be working very closely with the franchise owners to make sure their game stays true to the Ong Bak universe. Working with one of the highest-profile Thai properties is obviously a big deal for a yet unknown studio, though we're crossing our fingers hoping the game will offer just as much face-smashy fun as seen in the movies.

Hmm, maybe it's time to go rewatch the trilogy…?
