Bungie
Software and Gathering of Developers today released additional information
on the cast of characters players will face in Oni, the upcoming PC and
Mac 3D action/adventure game that blends hand-to-hand combat and double-barreled
gunplay in a detailed scale rarely seen in third-person action games.
Oni
delivers the smooth feel of a shooter combined with the visual richness of
broad third-person perspective and the frenetic
combat of a fighting game. Taking on the
role of Konoko, an elite agent of the Tech Crimes Task Force, gamers
will infiltrate and destroy a ruthless crime syndicate filled with unique
anime-style characters, as they maneuver their way
through breathtaking, interactive
environments.
Gathering
of Developers and Bungie Software will continue to provide updates on Oni
through the game’s ship date in January 2001.
Oni
Characters
Konoko
The gun-toting, butt-kicking main character and heroine.
Shinatama
Konoko’s friend and sidekick, also rumored to be a supercomputer-controlled
robot.
Muro
Leader of the "Evil Crime Syndicate".
Sniper
Strategically placed throughout the game waiting to attack.
Ninja
The fastest and most agile character.
Griffin
The Chief of Police.
Tanker
Fierce enemy who thinks Konoko’s head looks like a big speed bag.
Elite
Striker The most heavily armed and the meanest striker.
Communications
Striker The Syndicate’s Eyes and Ears who won’t hesitate to sound the alarm.
