Online party game Fall Guys out now on PC & PS4, Peaks at over 100k players

Even the servers fell

Mediatonic’s hilarious physics-based massively multiplayer party game Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout has launched today for PC and PlayStation 4. The title massively surpassed expectations with over 100.000 players storming the servers at launch. Watch the launch trailer here!

Publisher Devolver Digital likely has a real hit on its hands with Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout. Mere moments after the game launched today, a massive barrage of players barraged the servers of the online party game. According to the developer, at one point 120.000 players were connected to the game.

While this is an exceptionally large number and a great indicator for a game’s success, it proved to be a bit much at once for the game’s servers which inadvertently buckled under the heavy onslaught. Things are going much smoother now on the backend with gamers enjoying a unique and chaotic MMO party game. Probably the first of its kind.

Massive Online Pandemonium: Dive into a series of ridiculous challenges and wild obstacle courses with masses of other competitors online, all with the hopes of making the cut and advancing to the next round of mayhem.
Competitive & Cooperative: Shift between competitive free-for-alls and cooperative challenges where the losing team all get eliminated!
Comically Physical: Watch in delight as your fellow competitors bend, bounce, and bash their way to hilarious, physics-based failure!

With a focus on online play, a massive 60 players at once, and deep customization options, Fall Guys has a lot to offer already. And if early indications are anything to go by, it’s only going to get bigger. It immediately claimed the throne on Twitch with over 500k viewers as the most-watched game.

No surprise there. With tons of content, comedy-oriented online play, and hilarious physics interactions it’s the perfect recipe for a jolly good time. It sure helps that the asking price for all this is just $19.99.
