Online retailer GOG.com refuses to sell Hatred

Since its reveal, Hatred has made headlines around the internet for its controversial premise.

Earlier this year, the game, which puts you in the shoes of a psychotic mass murderer on a killing rampage, was removed from Steam Greenlight temporarily for its controversial nature, though it was later reinstated. And though Steam will be selling the Adults Only game, other retailers have blacklisted it.

Brick-and-mortar retailers like Walmart, Gamestop and Target refuse to stock Adults Only games, which can severely limit game sales for boxed releases. And though digital releases tend to be more lenient, it seems as though Hatred will only be available through Steam and Desura when it makes its full release.

In a bit of a surprise, Destructive Creations confirmed today that online retailer GOG.com will not be distributing the game.

"Hatred will not be available on GOG.com, even though gamers widely expected this to happen, because of GOG’s refusal to distribute the game," the developer said.

It's not all bad news for Hatred fans though. If you have already pre-ordered the game through Steam, you will be able to download and play it on May 29th, three days earlier than its official June 1st release.
