Open world Star Wars RPG game confirmed in new job posting

Yes! It's finally happening ladies and gentleman. The Star Wars open world we've wanted for so long is finally coming. Thanks to a new job posting spotted by Geeknation, Ea & Visceral are teaming up to work on the project.

The description for the posting reads as follows

“BRING YOUR SYSTEM GAME DESIGN SKILLS AND SAVVY AND YOUR LOVE OF STAR WARS TO VISCERAL GAMES, EMBRACING AND CONTRIBUTING TO THE PROJECT VISION IN AREAS OF HERO CONTROL/MECHANICS, AI BEHAVIORS, COMBAT/WEAPONS, CLASS DESIGN, SKILLS/PROGRESSION, ENEMY DESIGN, STORY AND BOSS ENCOUNTERS.”

The full job posting, should you want to apply or just drool over the fact that it's actually happening, can be seen here. The game has been rumored and much requested for a while now ever since Amy Hennig left Naughty Dog to join Visceral two years ago in order to work specifically on a Star Wars game. Well, this is it as she is at the helm for this open world adventure.

Also back in June of this year Nolan North slipped up a bit and spoke about how Hennig's game would be more of an open world format. Of course, this was all taken with a grain of salt at the time with Star Wars 1313 cancelled and all. Today, however, marks a new day and it's only fitting that it would be found out on the day The Force Awakens hits theaters.

Anyway, this game has the possibility to be quite possibly the best selling game in history and I don't think I'm getting ahead of myself either. With the absolute endless possibilities that can be covered in the Star Wars universe, there is no telling where the game can go. On the other hand, it is made by EA so I'd get ready to give your wallet some exercise with DLC missions and sorts.

Anyway, can this day get any better so far? How excited are you on a scale of one to total freak out. Let us know below…and be creative.
