When Pokemon's 20th anniversary came around, The Pokemon Company planned something pretty awesome for their Japanese fans. Back in December 2015, the original Japanese cards from 1996 were re-printed and in February of this year, they released.
Unfortunately, there was no announcement of the original cards being reprinted and sold to the rest of the world, but it looks like we might be getting some of those original cards back.
According to a report from PokeBeach, the American version of the XY12 set will be named Evolutions and will feature cards with their original artwork. The Evolutions set will include Mega Venusaur-EX, Mega Charizard-EX, and Mega Blastoise-EX, Dragonite-EX, Ninetales BREAK, Machamp BREAK, and Mega Slowbro-EX.
The set will have:
• Over 100 cards
• 12 new Pokémon-EX, including 5 Mega Evolution Pokémon
• 4 new Pokémon BREAK
• A reinvention of the very first Pokémon trading cards
This is one step closer to seeing the original cards released once more.
