Original ‘Rayman’ gets mobile release tomorrow

Ubisoft has been making mobile a new home for their limbless mascot as of late, between Rayman Jungle Run, Rayman Fiesta Run, and Rayman Adventures. Since they show little sign of straying from this trend, it's appropriate that new Rayman fans get acquainted with his history.

After teasing a return to classic form on Twitter last week, the official channel for all things Rayman has confirmed that the hero's debut title will be releasing for mobile tomorrow — on iOS at least, with no word given on Android. If you're a seasoned gamer, chances are you already own at least one of the classic platformer's iterations. Yet given the lack of Steam availability, this mobile port will no doubt be the most accessible version of all.

The original is an essential experience for platforming fans, but because it was designed for button play, hopefully existing in this touch-screen environment won't be a bad move.
