Awful news out of California today after reports say Oscar winning composer James Horner has died in a plane crash.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Horner was piloting a small aircraft before it went down about 60 miles north of Santa Barbara. The FAA says the pilot was the only person on board at the time of the crash.
The single-engine plane is said to be registered to Horner, but it's unknown exactly what caused the aircraft to go down. His death is being confirmed by an assistant.
