Focus Home Interactive and Lightbulb Crew are celebrating the launch of the stylish and dark turn-based action-RPG Othercide. The game is out now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One with a Nintendo Switch port slated for release later this summer. Check out the launch trailer here!
XCOM meets the gothic end times in Lightbulb Crew’s newly launched strategy game where there is much more than just a beautifully artistic first glance. Unlike traditional turn-based action games, Othercide is offering a whole new layer of strategy with the inclusion of the Dynamic Timeline System.
In Othercide, failing is not the end and is an expected and encouraged part of the game. Your defeat will come but every failure is a learning experience and holds its own rewards. Pushing deeper into the Age of Shattering will unlock new Remembrances, and these can be used to enhance your future attempts. They’re powerful, and there are plenty of choices to be made on what options to pick and how to exploit the bonuses they give. Plus, a new run doesn’t mean resetting to zero – Daughters and progress can be kept, for a price.
This allows combat to be exceptionally diverse by way of offering time itself as a mechanic. Actions can be fast-forwarded or rewound to get an edge over the horrible monster your party fights. An illustrious cast of the best female warriors that have ever lived aids you to defeat the world-ending threat of the Suffering Other.
Othercide is out now across most major platforms for $34.99. Stay on the lookout for the Nintendo Switch release sometime later this summer.
