Today Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and NetherRealm Studios, creators of last year's Mortal Kombat, shared new screenshots and a trailer for Injustice: Gods Among Us.
Injustice: Gods Among Us is an upcoming fighting game that pits superheroes and villains against one another in fisticuffs. From the sounds of it, it takes the basic concept of Midway's unsuccessful Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe and applies Mortal Kombat gameplay mechanics … without the Mortal Kombat.
So far the companies have confirmed Batman, Harley Quinn, Solomon Grundy, Superman, The Flash, and Wonder Woman as playable characters. Injustice: Gods Among Us is "set in a world where the lines between good and evil are blurred."
Creative director Ed Boon is working closely with comics writers Justin Gray and Jimmy Palmiotti on the game.
