Our first look at The Walking Dead Season 6 teases big showdown

Take a look at The Walking Dead poster that'll be on display at Comic-Con

AMC has revealed new key art for Season 6 of The Walking Dead, which will presumably be on display at next month's San Diego Comic-Con.

The poster features Rick Grimes and Morgan Jones front and center, suggesting their relationship will be the primary focus for at least the first half of the season, while the rest of the supporting cast is split behind them. On the left side, you have Rick's group and on the right you have the residents of Alexandria. Interestingly, Father Gabriel, who arrived at the safe zone with Rick's group, is now sided with Alexandria's residents — which isn't too much of a surprise considering what went down at the end of last season.

Is a massive throwdown about to take place? Is the hardened Rick Grimes and the zen-like Morgan Jones about to face off? You figure with how Season 6 ended, with Rick basically assuming the full leadership role in Alexandria with his intense monologue, the residents of Alexandria would realize how important he is in their survival.

AMc has already confirmed they will be bringing both The Walking Dead and its spinoff, Fear The Walking Dead, to San Diego Comic-Con in the form of two separate panels. I'm sure we'll learn more about the upcoming season then.

The Walking Dead returns to AMC for its sixth season this October.
