In last month's trailer for the upcoming Netflix exclusive series of Marvel's Daredevil, we were teased with just a glimpse of Wilson Fisk — perhaps better known by the masses as Kingpin. Today, we get our first at Vincent D'Onofrio (The Break-Up, Jurassic World) from head-on in this iconic role as Hell's Kitchen's infamous crime lord.
According to Daredevil's executive producer and showrunner, Steven DeKnight, Fisk will play "a crucial role" in Season 1 "as the adversary of Matt Murdock."
"Also, on the flip side, Matt Murdock is the fly in Fisk’s ointment. What I love about this show is we’re able to explore some gray areas of who is really good, who is really bad, and which person is really better for the city in the long run. It's a question we really examine," he teased.
Today's image doesn't spoil much, but does give us a good look at how D'Onofrio compares to the comic book version of Kingpin. There's definitely some intensity in the shot. I'd say he makes quite the intimidating Kingpin.
All 13 episodes of Marvel's Daredevil will debut on Netflix at once on April 10, but Marvel promises more sneak peeks in the coming weeks.
