Outlast 2 will not support PSVR at release

After the Outlast 2 demo made its rounds on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, the thirst for the first person horror game was made even worse. Even though the delayed release date of early 2017 puts Outlast 2 after thePlayStation VR's  release, it doesn't look like it will be getting optimized for the more powerful console.

In an interview with Red Barrels President, Philippe Morin revealed to PlayStation LifeStyle that the team is too small to focus on optimizing the game for the PSVR at the moment.

No, it won’t be.  I think that if you want to make a really effective and enjoyable VR game, it has to be built from the ground up for it.  Since we’re a small team of 20 people, we have to focus on one thing at a time.  We’ll see once we ship Outlast 2 if we jump on the VR bandwagon.

We might see optimization later on, after the game releases and the developers have a chance to focus on new projects.
