Outlast 2 will test your faith next Fall

Red Barrels wants to take you on another 'twisted journey' through the human mind

Red Barrels is ready to take you on a "new twisted journey into the depths of the human mind and its dark secrets." As expected, the developer announced today Outlast 2, the sequel to the acclaimed survival horror game Outlast.

A brief minute-long teaser was released, seemingly confirming the return of the game's signature night vision camera, as well as revealing a Fall 2016 release window — probably just in time to scare you next Halloween.

Details remain scarce, but an overview was included:

"No conflict is ever black and white. But once the dust has settled, the victors get to decide who was right and who was wrong. Who is good and who is evil. Human nature pushes us to extremes of violence and depravity, which we then justify by divine inspiration and a promise of paradise to come. Horror rises from desperation and blind faith."

Red Barrels promises Outlast 2 "will test your faith, pushing players to a place where going mad is the only sane thing to do."
