Hopoo Games has released their massive action-roguelike Risk of Rain 2 out of Early Access on Steam. Players can look forward to the addition of a new stage, new survivor character, a final boss, and much more. Check out the launch trailer here!
One of the best roguelikes has made the successful jump from pixel art 2D to full 3D in a great way with Risk of Rain 2. With an overwhelmingly positive Steam user review score of 96%, there is already a great consensus that it’s also one of the best games available right now. Period.
Version 1.0 of the action-roguelike is available only on PC at the moment with console versions getting the new content sometime this fall. It’s going to be worth the wait though since v1.0 packs a real punch. You can get a better idea of all the new additions in it with the second new trailer that details the update below.
- The game now includes a proper ending, with credits and cutscene.
- Quickplay served an important function at launch – but the QP featureset is barebones. Not only that, but the game has evolved past needing to just find a match – you need to find the right match. We think a built-in Server Browser (and hosting) will still allow you to connect and find other players easily while also providing a lot of the features and choices you want to make before connecting to a game.
- The game now includes an intro cutscene!
- New Survivor: Captain
- New Final Stage: ???
Risk of Rain 2 is available right now on Steam at a 20% discount for $15.99. This launch deal only lasts until August 18.
