Over 82,000 gamers have played Resident Evil 7 in VR

That's 9.54% of players

Resident Evil 7 is the talk of gaming right now, and for a good reason. It's magnificent. It is also the first truly big AAA game to leverage VR as a legitimately game enhancing feature. To this point, VR games have been predominantly brief showcase types of experiences that are cool for the moment but don't offer much in the way of long-term gameplay. Resident Evil 7 has brought together the largest number of gamers on VR to date, according to ResidentEvil.net.

The game tracks a number of varying statistics, some of them incredible (like how it took less than a day for players to travel the distance to the moon in-game), while others are purely informative. The most interesting of these informative statistics is the number of gamers that have been playing Resident Evil 7 in VR, which as of this writing clocks in at 82,962, which accounts for 9.54% of players across all three platforms.

There's no way to tell what the percentage of PS4 players is, but we do know that at a whole, the game has shipped about 2.5 million units, though it's likely even more than that now.

Resident Evil 7 is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
