Overwatch: New Summer Games mode is basically Rocket League without cars

With the Olympic Summer Games officially set to begin this Friday, Blizzard is bringing the spirit of the Summer Games to Overwatch. Over the next three weeks, Overwatch players will be able to help themselves to a new seasonal Loot Box, as well as a new game mode.

The new Loot Boxes will contain new Summer Games themed cosmetic items including themed sprays, emotes, victory poses, highlight intros, player icons, and some very special skins. The seasonal Loot Box will not be available through purchase with credits, however, each seasonal Loot Box is guaranteed to contain at least one item from the Summer Games 2016 collection.

Any item you unlock will be yours forever, even after the event concludes on August 22.

The new game mode, Lucioball, is basically Rocket League for Overwatch… better known as soccer with a giant ball. Lucioball is a 3v3 mode set in Estádio das Rãs and features jump pads and speed-boosting walls. Oh, and everyone in the mode will be Lucio.

Lucio's moves have been tweaked for the mode, his ultimate will pull the ball towards him and his speed boost will only affect himself.
