Overwatch player reporting confirmed to be releasing consoles

Get rid of the cheaters

Overwatch was one of the best games to release last year for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, and has been highly regarded ever since. Blizzard has supported the game with both character and game updates, which has been relatively pleasing to fans. One request that has been bugging players, at least on console, is the absence of player reporting.

The feature is currently available only on PC, leaving PS4 and Xbox One players high and dry when it comes to reporting cheaters. Jeff Kaplan, the game's director, responded to this and several other questions on Blizzard's forums. When it comes to the player reporting, Kaplan noted the following:

Regarding Reporting: This feature is coming to both PS4 and Xbox. I don't have an exact ETA because there are many moving parts to make this happen. My hope is that everything locks into place before summer… or sooner. But we're at the mercy of things beyond our control on this one and we've been working super hard to make it happen.

Kaplan also mentioned that they are working on more bindings for consoles, specifically since they don't have text chat like PC.

Overwatch's Year of the Rooster event starts today and you can check out some of the footage here. So, are you guys happy now that consoles will be getting player reporting? Let us know!
