Owlboy finally gets its console release date, coming to Switch, PS4, and Xbox One

It's hard to believe that it's already been a year, but in celebration of Owlboy's one year anniversary, developer D-Pad has formally announced that the game is coming to all three major consoles early next year on February 13th. They also announced that a physical retail version is in the works as well, but that it would come at a later date.

On top of that, Owlboy is now supported in 12 languages in an update that went live today for players on Steam. Speaking of Steam, if you are a PC player who has not yet picked up the critically acclaimed 2D platformer, you're in luck as for today only, the game has a 40% discount, bringing its price of admission down to $14.99.

Reviews for Owlboy were universally positive when it launched exactly one year ago today. The game was in development for nine years, and as a result, the level of attention to detail is almost unprecedented. You play as a mute owl named, Otus who struggles to live up to the standards of the world around him. The twist is that Otus can't actually fight himself, so the player tags along with other denizens of the world to fight for him as gunners and you carry them while flying around the environment.

Owlboy is available now on PC and will launch digitally on Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One on February 13th, 2018.
