Pac-Man, or originally Puck Man as Scott Pilgrim would like to constantly remind everyone, hasn't been part of the gaming scene of late. In fact, save for the 3DS game that came out a few years ago, Pac-Man has been largely MIA. A character appearance in Street Fighter X Tekken doesn't count!
Today, Namco Bandai unveiled a whole new adventure for our yellow and often hungry friend. PAC-MAN and the Ghostly Adventures will be a platforming game, that's based off of the cartoon universe of Pac-Man, which will air on Disney XD.
The description reads:
PAC-MAN and the Ghostly Adventures is a big, bustling, bonkers world of action, adventure, and just plain wackiness starring three BFF teenage characters that work together to keep their world free and safe.
The story begins as the menacing ghosts escape from the uber creepy Netherworld to invade PacWorld. These frightening ghosts, ghouls, and goblins wreak havoc on the population and cause nothing but trouble wherever they go! Pac and his pals rise to the challenge of protecting their home and embark on an epic battle.
Pac and his pals team up to fight with all their might for what they believe in: Friendship, Freedom, and the Future!
Am I sad to see good old Pac, not amidst a colored maze, made to eat all the yellow pellets he can find and avoid ghosts? Well, sure I am. However, Namco Bandai was clear to point out that the game will also harken back to classic gameplay elements such as Ghost encounters.
Pac fans can look forward to getting their hands on the game this Fall, on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and even the Wii U! Hey! That's great news!
