Papers, Please hit the iPad today

The critically acclaimed independent video game, Papers, Please, developed by Lucas Pope officially hit the iPad today, but every launch has its bumps and this release certainly had one — it was a 'misunderstanding' from Apple.

If you are unfamiliar with Papers, Please it places you (the player) as a border control guard/immigration officer in the dystopian nation of Arstotzka.

Apple's 'misunderstanding' with the game stems from the full-body scanner that depicts the person attempting to enter Arstotzka fully nude. Now, whether or not I personally pass through the full body scanner and appear nude for TSA doesn't matter — what matters is if a game on the App Store has nudity. Apple rejected the nudity and covered the character in underwear.

Since the censorship, Apple has claimed a misunderstanding and suggested the developer resubmit the game with the nudity option – this resubmission will occur over the weekend:

The iPad version of Papers, Please comes with new features:  unlockable multitouch support for faster paperwork, enhanced inspection mode, Game Center achievements, leaderboards, mid-day resume, and more.

Papers, Please can be downloaded from the App Store for $5.99 and will require 30.1MB of space.
