Path of Exile coming to Steam this month

Grinding Gear Games' free-to-play game Path of Exile will release on Steam on October 23.

The date marks the final release of version 1.0 and the official launch of the action-role-playing game, which entered open beta on PC in January. Grinding Gear plans to roll out yearly expansions.

Path of Exile reached 2 million players in March. It now features seven classes and a variety of player-versus-player events, such as tournaments and capture the flag.

We talked to the developer earlier this year about what makes the game different from competition like Diablo and Torchlight.
