Hugh Jackman made it very clear that the upcoming Wolverine film will be his last time playing Wolverine, he's even gone as far as teasing images of the film followed by a hashtag that says #OneLastTime. It turns out that Patrick Stewart will be joining Jackman in Wolverine 3, it's the best way to bid Logan farewell.
Speaking with Collider, Stewart not only confirmed his role, but also praised the fact that the next film would be focusing on the Old Man Logan story.
"There is a project in development. I understand that Professor Xavier will be making more than an appearance, however, and that intrigues me… And the idea of an old Wolverine – I’m really looking forward to Hugh Jackman getting old. You know, damn him. He looks so great! So I’m hoping to see him covered in prosthetics, you know? And then he’ll make me look better if that’s the case.”
It will be interesting to see how this story weaves into the rest, considering the story follows Wolverine in a very distant future in a world where he is the only living member of the X-Men. He's living on the west coast trying to live out his life in peace and of course, a catastrophe occurs and Logan is forced to go on one final mission.
