PAX East is currently going on right now, and some of the developers at BioWare stopped by the show to give a 30-minute demonstration of the game during a panel (captured by DualShockers). The demo showcases oodles of never-before-seen gameplay with the focus being the Loyalty Mission for Liam Kosta. It bears mentioning that if you want to go into Andromeda blind, it would be wise to turn away as there are some spoilers, albeit slightly out of context if you aren't 100% in the know on all things Andromeda.
As you can see from the beginning, how you interact with your ship The Tempest has received quite the upgrade since Mass Effect 3. A lot of that has to do with the added hardware power of next generation consoles as well as the Frostbyte Engine, which many of EA's games have gradually moved over to over the last several years. The most interesting part about The Tempest is how you can see the planet that you are orbiting right outside of your window, which represents a design focus on the use of space that the developers reference a lot.
The other major difference you will notice is that players will be able to change classes on the fly via a Profile System. One of the more frustrating aspects of previous Mass Effect games was being locked into only one way of playing the game unless of course, you replayed it again. But this way, the gameplay can change at the will of the player, putting more power in your hands.
There's been a ton of Mass Effect: Andromeda news as of late, including the limitations that EA Access and Origin subscribers have on the upcoming 10-hour trial ahead of launch. The game will feature optional microtransactions and if you want to get an early look at the trophy/achievement list, you can do so here.
Mass Effect: Andromeda releases on March 21st, 2017 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
