PAX 2011 – Borderlands 2 Gunzerker Preview

Borderlands 2 is definitely one of the hottest games being shown off at PAX Prime, with Gearbox heavily promoting the latest installment in their “Role Playing Shooter” series. The latest batch of information they’ve dropped from the show focuses heavily on the new character class known as the Gunzerker. Probably the biggest draw of the Borderlands series has been the awesome assortment of weaponry, the procedurally generated equipment allowing for a seemingly endless variety of possible firearms. Though as much fun as it is to jump into battle with these unique weapons, the Gunzerker promises to double that excitement with his unique dual-wielding ability.

There’s a lot to expect from Borderlands 2, including new monsters, new weapons, an expanded Pandora, and of course plenty of online co-op mayhem. Let’s just hope this one rewards players who truck through the thirty or so hours of gameplay, with something better than the original’s thirty second ending sequence…
