Overkill Software has announced a sequel to its first-person shooter/bank robbery game Payday: The Heist, and this time it's coming to Xbox 360 as well as PlayStation 3 and PC.
This is the first entry in the series to be releasing on Xbox. Previously, The Heist came exclusively to the PlayStation 3 console, and it ended up on PC as well.
505 Games is stepping forward as the new publisher. Sony Computer Entertainment released The Heist for PS3, and Microsoft handled the PC version. Payday 2 is due out this summer.
Overkill joined Sweden-based Starbreeze Studios last year, which gave the developer more options.
We were split on The Heist when it released last year in August. We wrote in our review, "There are some aspects you’ll like, including the four-player online co-op support and the variety of the missions. However, the lacking gunplay and small glitches may have you feeling as if you might’ve been robbed for $20."
