Regardless of the fact the Star Wars: Battlefront features some team based game modes, the game will not feature a built-in voice chat system on PC. This may come as a surprise to some players, considering that DICE's other first-person shooter, Battlefield, featured a built-in voice chat system – but – let's be honest, the system wasn't often used.
Voice chat will still be an option on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, but PC users will have to look towards third party software to communicate with fellow teammates. The catch is, the third party software will only be available to your teammates if you share the information with them – whether you're using Ventrillo or TeamSpeak, what the channel name is and so on.

EA did not offer any details on why voice chat was not included in the PC version of the game, but it could be chalked up to DICE's experience with Battlefield 4. While a built-in chat system was offered on PC, it wasn't widely used, save for a few game modes (like Commander Mode).
The exclusion of voice chat on PC seems to have the community divided between cancellations of pre-orders and "ok, who cares?"
