Persona 4: The Golden gets a trailer, likely coming to US

Last fall, Atlus officially announced an enhanced port of Persona 4 for the PlayStation Vita. The game would be subtitled The Golden and is part of the Shin Megami Tensei: Persona family of Japanese social sim RPGs.

Persona 4 was originally released for the PlayStation 2 in 2008. Now a new version of the game is coming from developer/publisher Atlus, who plans to add a host of features—including 3G and Wi-Fi support, new event scenes, more Personas and character outfits, a "mysterious girl" named Marie, and updated voice-acting.

The networking components of the Vita may allow players to request help from other gamers when in trouble in dungeon battles, although Atlus has yet to comment further on this aspect.

We now know the game is scheduled for release in Japan on June 14 of this year. A North American release has not been confirmed, but the success of the franchise in the US and the upcoming Persona 4: The Ultimate fighting game (slated for sometime this spring) is a good sign we can expect The Golden to arrive on our shores, as well.
