Pete Hines hints at more to come with Fallout Shelter

Fallout Shelter has been a huge hit. That’s really no surprise given the developer behind it and the quirky and fun mechanics behind the little resource management game. After its announcement and simultaneous release it topped Apple App Store charts in nearly 50 countries, experienced over 70 million gameplays and made an estimated $5 million dollars only half a month into its appearance. And that was when it was still only available for Apple devices.

The problem with Bethesda’s little gem of a mobile game is that it’s engrossing and plenty of players have already maxed out the 200 dweller cap and upgraded their vaults to maximum. Sometimes in multiple vaults. So what then? Fallout 4 is still months away and the attention span of the market is notorious for fickle migration when it comes to gaming.

Pete Hines assured fans that they will soon be expanding Shelter to offer more, even for level capped players, “The intention is that for the rest of this year and into next year and beyond, we will continue to develop new stuff for the game – and not just [enemies] deathclaws, but to continue to grow and expand the game for folks that have hit 200 people and have maxed out everything. We are asking ourselves: What more can we add content wise for these people? That is definitely a big part of our plan.”
