Peter Moore has decided to follow his dream and become president of a sports organization.

The winter transfer window in Premier League closed long ago, but that hasn't stopped one of the United Kingdom's most successful football teams in signing the CCO of EA!

The gaming world and the real world is becoming more and more entwined, especially the sports section of the real world with several big football teams like Schalke 04 and others acquiring eSports teams and the living Swedish legend himself, Zlatan Ibrahimović, becoming part owner of Isbit Games. The next prominent man in gaming to join the world of football is the CCO of EA, Peter Moore.

The team in question is Liverpool FC, one of the most successful teams in the UK, second only to Manchester United.

The official announcement came on Liverpool's official website where they simply said: "Liverpool Football Club has named Peter Moore as its new chief executive officer."

Liverpool-born Moore will join Liverpool FC in the summer and will answer only to the club's owners, Fenway Sports Group.

This won't be Moore's first rodeo on a senior position, as he has previously held important roles at SEGA, Microsoft, Reebok, and various position within EA.

Like our own writer and Liverpool supporter David Purcell said: "It will be an interesting transition, to say the least. It's a similar job title but a very different role. This is real football".

In an internal memo the CEO of EA, Andrew Wilson, sends Moore off with a smile and wishes of good fortune.

"Passion is essential for all of us at Electronic Arts. It's what gets us up in the morning and drives us to do extraordinary things. And if you've ever met Peter Moore, you know that he quite literally wears his passion for Liverpool FC on his sleeve. So it's with great excitement that we congratulate Peter on following his dream to become the next CEO of his beloved Liverpool Football Club."

We will wait and see whether Peter Moore can help the Reds to reprise their previous their standing as England's most successful football team, as well as who will fill the void he will leave behind at EA.

However, there is one thing we do know for certain. As long as he works for Liverpool… He will never walk alone.
