We've known for a while now that Sony and Marvel's Spider-Man reboot will feature a much younger Peter Parker than we've seen in past films about the webslinger. But how young Tom Holland's version of the character will be has been a mystery — until now.
Speaking to Empire magazine director Jon Watts revealed Holland's Peter Parker will be just 15 years old.
"We're really going to see Peter Parker in high school and get deeper into that side of it. He's just 15 now," Watts detailed.
"I love the idea of making a coming-of-age high school movie," he said, praising Holland's athleticism. Watts said Holland "captures the spirit of the character" in addition to his ability to move like Spidey including some parkour and backflips. The kid is Spider-Man."
It has already been confirmed that this won't be an origin story, so it will be very interesting to see how they handle an already established Spider-Man for a reboot. Tom Hollands version of Spider-Man will make his first debut in 2016's Captain America: Civil War before his own solo movie, scheduled for a Summer 2017 release.
