Phantasy Star Online 2 confirmed for PlayStation Vita

Previously only announced for PCs in Japan, Phantasy Star Online 2 is coming to the PlayStation Vita handheld in 2013. No word yet on whether North America will receive a release for the PC or Vita or if both versions are planned, but it is known that users on both systems will be able to play together.

SEGA is publishing the game, with Sonic Team developing the title. The science-fantasy series of RPGs crosses magic and technology and sets the story in one of various galaxies, depending on the game.

You can catch more than a glimpse of gameplay in this Japanese behind-the-scenes video:

Sony announced the Vita version at today's “Game Heaven” web presentation.
