Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds brawls its way to XBLA today

A new 2D beat 'em up landed on Xbox Live Arcade today. Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds is available now on the Xbox 360's download platform for 800 Microsoft Points.

The game has a pixelated art style reminiscent of old school brawlers, though there's a slightly more modern emphasis on tiny anime-esque characters. If you dig arcade action, this may definitely be your type of game.

Battle Grounds is a spin-off of the Xbox 360 fighter Phantom Breaker. It'll prove quite interesting seeing the series' mechanics shifted for the 2D beat 'em up genre with light RPG elements tossed in for good measure.
