The pilot episode for the anime adaptation of the popular 3DS legal series, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, will air via streaming platform Crunchyroll on Saturday, April 2 at 4 a.m. Pacific (7 a.m. Eastern).
“Touching on the beginning and early stories of the series, the anime will reintroduce fan-favorite characters,” Capcom said in a blog post, “including the ace attorney who always turns things around, Phoenix Wright (Naruhodo Ryuichi), the cool and pragmatic prosecutor, Miles Edgeworth (Mitsurugi Reiji), the spunky spirit medium in training, Maya Fey (Ayasato Mayoi), and a whole cast of the colorful characters that make up the world of Gyakuten Saiban.”
The core Ace Attorney cast has been renamed for their anime debut, with many a pun hidden in their new monikers. Phoenix Wright himself is a particularly obvious play on words: his Japanese name, Naruhodo, translates to “indeed” or “I understand.”
As Crunchyroll confirmed in a blog post, the Ace Attorney anime will be available to all members worldwide excluding Asia.
Final Fantasy 15 is getting an anime of its own, as Square Enix revealed at the game's recent Uncovered event. Dubbed Brotherhood, the series delves into the history and friendship of the four members of the main party.
