Nintendo didn't announce the release date of Pikmin 3 during the actual Nintendo Direct presentation today, but tucked away in the depths of an email recap, the company quietly confirmed the game launches for Wii U on August 4, 2013.
During the actual presentation, Nintendo instead opted to share with us a new type of Pikmin — the Winged Pikmin. As the name suggests, these winged creatures can fly and follow the player, carrying items in the air as well.
