Pirating games could be impossible in two years, hackers claim

Before any game, movie, show or book releases, there is almost always someone on the internet who has already seen it or read it, regardless of copyright protection. It appears as though this trend might be slowing down or coming to a complete halt within the next two years, at least when it comes to pirating games.

Illegally downloading games has become much harder since the latest iteration of Denuvo Software has been released. The anti-tamper encryption system developed by Denuvo has supplied a nearly unbreakable DRM protection for products, one of which being Just Cause 3.

According to the founder of the Chinese cracking forum 3DM, Avalanche Studios' recent addition to the Just Cause series released on December 1st, 2015 and has yet to be cracked by game pirates, despite the high demand.

“I still believe that this game can be compromised. But according to current trends in the development of encryption technology, in two years time I’m afraid there will be no free games to play in the world,” wrote 3DM (via TorrentFreak) founder ‘Bird Sister’ on her blog.

Saying there will be "no free games to play in the world" is a bit of a stretch, considering there are free-to-play games out there.
