Still not content with the bazillion more guns that Borderlands 2 offers? What about extra wub wub Gearbox has added in the form of an extra playable class and campaign add-on? Still not enough? Well, just wait, because Gearbox still has plenty in store for fans of the hit sequel.
Following the announcement that Borderlands 2 is becoming "one of the most popular video games of the year" with more than five million units shipped worldwide, Gearbox President Randy Pitchford promised plenty of content that he "can't wait to show everyone."
“The overwhelmingly positive response to Borderlands 2 from our fans has been incredible,” said Pitchford said. “Players have embraced Borderlands 2 as their next hobby with over 50 million interactions with Claptrap in the central town of Sanctuary and 12,000 real world years’ worth of time spent shooting and looting their way through Pandora!"
To date, Gearbox has released two DLC packs for Borderlands 2: Gaige, the Mechromancer class, and the Captain Scarlett and her Pirate's Booty add-on campaign. Additionally, there will be three more add-on campaigns scheduled to release throughout the coming months.
"We are just getting started and have incredible momentum to improve and add to the game all the way through the holiday season and beyond," Pitchford added. "We can’t wait to show everyone what more we have in store for Borderlands 2.”
If you'd like to pre-purchase all future Borderlands 2 content you can buy the Season Pass for $29.99. This will give you access to all of the add-on campaigns for free as they become available. All four add-on content campaigns, which add up to a total value of $39.96, are scheduled to be available by June 2013. The next add-on is rumored to be called "Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage".
