Pizza Hut Xbox 360 app is the best worst idea ever

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Pizza Hut for Xbox — a new Xbox 360 app that lets you order pizza from your gaming console. It's both the best and worst thing to ever happen to the Xbox 360. I appreciate the convenience, but my slowing metabolism won't. I don't have to stop playing my Xbox 360 to order pizza now.

With the app, you can book a delivery and create your order from the full Pizza Hut menu, be it pizza with whatever toppings you want, pasta, breadsticks, wings or drinks.

If you want to show your friends and family on Facebook the horrible life choice you're about to make, the app can connect to your Facebook account and post your dinner order for them to see. Also, the whole app is Kinect-compatible. You might as well wave your arms around and burn a few calories ordering your pizza.

This app marks the first time an entertainment app has allowed for the purchase and delivery of physical goods through the Xbox 360. And you know it won't be the last. Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb told Polygon that "We're always looking at ways to give our audience more of what they're interested in."

Hryb continued, "Xbox LIVE is a tremendous force in the living room. With all the streaming you can do and the games you can play… it's not necessarily about bringing in next-gen, it's about what's right for the living room space." Yea… okay Larry. I don't know about you, but I've never sat around wishing that I could order pizza through my Xbox. Doesn't everyone have a phone that could do that? I'd love to interrupt the game I'm playing or the show I'm watching on Netflix to order a pizza through your app – said no one ever.

If you're a huge Pizza Hut fan and this is the app you've been waiting for, the Pizza Hut app is available today, April 23, on the Xbox 360. Users who download and order through the Pizza Hut app before May 6 will get a 15 percent discount off their first purchase.
