Good news, PlayStation fans — we're one step closer to having PlanetSide 2 ready for PS4. With news coming in over the weekend that a beta build for PlanetSide 2 had been submitted to Sony, Sony Online Entertainment president John Smedley confirmed that it was approved in the first go-through.
What this means is that the possible beta dates provided by Smedley over the weekend — January 13th or 20th — are now more likely to be accurate. Unfortunately, it looks like we'll have to wait a tad bit longer before we find out the official beta date as SOE doesn't get back into the office until next week.
For those interested in participating in the console beta of PlanetSide 2, you can still sign-up through the game's official website. It's unclear how large the closed beta will be or how participants will be selected, but I'm assuming more info will be provided next week.
